Overview

Center for Digital Society (CfDS) is a research center established by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The center is created under the concern over the contemporary dynamics of the socio-political condition of the world that is accentuated by the impeccable influence of information technology. The phenomenon triggers new patterns and complexities in society, and thus requires new approaches in managing such complexities.

CfDS has pledged to delve more into the study of contemporary digital society, including related issues surrounding the topic; such as the issues of smart city and urban development. The emphasis is then put on the utilization of technology to shape the society in becoming digitalized, as well as to bring solvency to social issues.

Our research and activities are mainly supported by the leading mottos of productive, innovative, and influential.

Scope of Research and Activities

As part of academic institution and resembling the function as research center in Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Center for Digital Society (CfDS) we are constantly expanding the scope of our research and activities.

    Our first focused

    We focused on contributing especially in three main research and activities topics: Digital Citizenship, Digital Commerce, and Digital Lifestyle

    Added and extending the scope

    CfDS added and extended the scope of research and activities in three main fields: Smart City, Digital Literacy, and Digital Diplomacy.
